The initial, higher price helps cover development and rollout costs. After year three, you’re only paying for on-call AutoCert expert support.
These steep reductions assume you’ll move to a self-hosted SCS (cloud or on-prem) sometime during year three. We’ll migrate you for free on AWS (or elsewhere for a small fee). BYOD plans are already self-hosted, so nothing changes there. If you’d rather have AutoCertNow continue warranting and hosting your SCS, no problem.
AutoCertNow staff will retain sole RDP access and will manage the SCS internally, but after year three you handle external tasks (firewall rules, backups, and domain renewal, see Host your own SCS in the cloud).
After the 4th year (and self-hosted), if you want to cancel your subscription and assume full control instead, no problemo. We’ll hand over the SCS admin credentials - no strings attached - and we stay friends. If someday you decide to start your subscription again, great! We'll be there whenever you need us.
